HI-MOLD YAMASHIRO 1941 or 1944

This resin kit comes with two complete sets of instructions and alternate parts for building Yamashiro in either her 1941 or 1944 configuration. The one-piece hull is cast complete up to the forecastle deck, nicely capturing the complex hull shape forward and the V-shaped stern. The casemate mounts, overhanging structure for the aircraft crane, degaussing cable, blanked off starboard forward anchor, and armour belt are all well-defined.

The deck features extremely sharp details: planking, anchor chain, cable reels, paravanes, capstans, bollards, and the aircraft deck with its transport rails and turntables. Cut-outs for fitting the main superstructure parts are also present. The pagoda platforms are on two resin wafers, the rest of the superstructure parts and the main gun turrets being cast individually. The pagoda platforms are detailed top and bottom with bulkhead features and bridge windows where appropriate. The single-piece funnel has external pipes and a well-defined funnel grille. The ships boat’s are moulded with chocks.
